Short answer

Injection moulding is a process in which molten thermoplastic is injected into a steel mould to form a finished part in one cycle. Youwang runs 17 injection moulding machines producing ABS, PP and PC housings and water tanks for its own appliance platforms, which is why housing colour changes carry no tooling surcharge and start at the standard MOQ of 500 units.

When this process applies

This capability covers the housings, water tanks, dust boxes and internal brackets used on our robot vacuum, spin scrubber, car vacuum and pet fountain platforms. Moulds for these parts are maintained in-house. We do not mould parts for third-party product designs that we do not assemble.

Where it is the right choice

  • Appliance housings and cosmetic parts for our own platforms
  • Water-bearing tanks in PP with gasketed interfaces
  • Custom colours and logo tooling for private-label orders
  • Internal brackets and structural parts where 90% of the bill of materials is made in-house

Where it is the wrong choice

Stating this explicitly matters more than a capability list: if your part falls into one of these categories, another process will cost you less.

  • Moulding parts for products we do not assemble — we do not operate as a stand-alone moulding job shop
  • Optical-grade lenses and light-guide parts that need Class-8 cleanroom moulding
  • Metal injection moulding (MIM) and die-cast metal parts
  • Single-sample quantities below the tooling-economics threshold

Equipment

  • 17 injection moulding machines
  • 15 surface-treatment units for finishing and printing
  • In-house mould bench for cleaning, repair and spare inserts

Process questions

Can I get my product in a custom colour?

Yes. Black and white run as standard; Pantone-matched colours are produced at the platform MOQ (500–2,000 units by product) because the housings are moulded in-house and colour change is a material change, not a tooling change.

Do you charge tooling for colour or logo changes?

Colour changes carry no tooling fee. Logo printing is applied with the surface-treatment equipment; a new printing fixture, where needed, is quoted separately and is typically a low single-digit cost per order, not per unit.

Can you mould parts for my existing product design?

No. We mould for the platforms we assemble. If you need a contract moulding job shop, we will say so up front rather than quote work that does not fit our line.
